After the governor transferred $10,000 by breaking it into smaller amounts, he then called the bank asking that his name be removed from the transactions, the sources said.

Amazing isn't it?

I have a hard time believing Spitzer would be that dumb. Even I know better than to do that.

The thing that I don't is that this guy apparently has the ability to just keep a wad of cash on hand (unless momma is running the bank account). I have to imagine he has a safe in his office. I'm sure he could have figured out a creative way of withdrawing cash in a manner that would have avoided attention from his wife.

Somehow I have a feeling this involved his security detail leaking infomation.. They would have been almost everywhere that he was.

But you're absolutely right.. the last thing you do is call the bank and ask that your name be taken off the wire transfers.. That's just plain stupid!!

And was he targeted? Hell yes!! He made so many enemies in NY that he should have had no doubt that he was being watched closely by his enemies. Anyone who puts that big of a bullseye on his back can't help but be a target.
