This will be a controversial post. I am playing devils advocate here. This is an answer to your post by hillary.

Zeta,
Bill and I have been more committed to civil rights for all americans during our lives than to any other issue. Imagine how surprised I was to find black folks ignoring the contribution we made to go for one of their own in such overwhelming numbers. Their move in this direction had little to do with policy because on civil rights there are no differences between obama and me. This is purely a matter of racial pride and though i understand it, the enormity of the numbers shock me. Imagine where we would be in this race if black votes went to obama 60-40 and not 90-10.
In your mind the fact that obama brought in oprah and others to accomplish this is OK and is not racial politics but if I try to garner a larger share of the female vote, it is somehow untoward? As for the racism you charge, once again let me state that Bill's fairytail remark had to do only with obamas iraq vote and nothing more. Sure bill may have made that jesse comparison in SC but the obama folks fuel the fires of gender politics in similar ways and where you get the moslem thing from escapes me.

Regards,

Hillary
