FF, that was the argument for faking the numbers and the stock market bubble was the result.

i'd argue that any quality improvement that didn't lead to more dollars was not a productive improvement at creating dollars - which is what gdp is supposed to measure.

quality improvements don't pay the bills, dollars do.

even if one decides to go this route, it is absurd to value a computer that is twice as fast as worth twice as much. after all, it doesn't make one twice as productive - i still type the same speed.
