I don't think most games (outside of board games and schools and unions, and other specialized cases) have real "rules". There are "conventions"- but it's the excellent people who break the conventions in a good way who stand out, who are real leaders. If you just want to follow a bunch of rules, you really aren't much of a leader- you're a follower, which is fine.

I understand why a follower might get annoyed at the people with the leadership skills, or the innovation skills- I was just saying it doesn't make much sense to gripe about it, and especially not in a contest where new ideas and leadership matter.

I wasn't actually arguing with you- I was just articulating my own point.

I think her resentment is unwarranted, but I also think that it's understandable. At least I think I understand it.

That's what I was trying to say, too. She should have held her tongue but I can sympathize with her sentiments.

Also I don't see it as an attack on Obama. It was a truthful characterization of the press idealization of Obama.....which of course isn't Obama's fault.

The problem for Obama is that Ferraro tapped into a state of simmering resentment some segment of the Dem party feels about the press. We have FOX representing the GOP and now MSNBC representing a single candidate and single wing of the Dem Party. How weird is that?

It takes 'unfairness' to a new dimension....even for those of us who resist putting events into categories of fair and unfair.
