to be fair -- I think Lance does more than a good market summary -- he has a succinct interpretation of what is going on -- more than market commentary -- not sure what others charge for similar service as I haven't shopped ...

Does he do any trading reccomendations?

I do subscribe to Jim Stack's site. Here's his interim update tonight. He's not bullish.

INVESTECH FINANCIAL UPDATE: FRIDAY, MARCH 14th, 2008

In a just-released survey by the Wall Street Journal, over 70% of economists now believe the economy has dropped into a recession. So it seems that Ben Bernanke and the Fed are rapidly becoming the solitary hold-outs.

Frankly, we were not impressed by Tuesday’s 400pt rally. It came on mediocre breadth (for the size of gain), sending our A/D Divergence Index lower. And the action since then has been even less impressive – with no positive backfilling in breadth and far too many stocks hitting new 12-month lows to suggest the market lows are truly behind us. Our Negative Leadership Composite remains locked at a very negative -100.

STRATEGY: Remain skeptical and force the market to “prove itself” –from a technical standpoint. Until we see firm evidence of a market bottom, we will maintain our cautious allocation and be extremely selective in any new stocks that we might consider for adding to our portfolio. And right now, we see very little evidence that a market bottom is in place.
