That sounds so noble but one reason Judeo/Christian civilization endures is because sexual energy is harnessed and expressed in a constructive family context. If we toss that out our civilization will fail. Sex is part of the normal human behavior. It should not be punished if nobody was hurt

It isn't the sex. It is the laws that are already written that he evidently has broken. And he certainly can't say he didn't know what the laws were. He's been prosecuting people for years, and has many enemies. Until we know WHO the owners of the "high class and VERY expensive cat house" are, and the ties those people have to organized crime here in the US or other organized crime worldwide, we don't know what other laws have been broken, other than the surface offenses. Could any of the so called "Clients" be blackmailed? For secrets that should stay inside this country? Or was something going on that compromised the "Clients" so that they were compelled to pass Secret security info to other Countries? Or Terrorists? How is it if he was doing this for years, that none of his Security guards reported anything? Spitzer caused this entire episode himself. He has no one but himself to blame. And we had better all hope that there was nothing else going on ....

Sex is part of the normal human behavior. It should not be punished if nobody was hurt I am inclined to agree with you. The Germans have a great word for these things, "MENSCHLICHKEIT". It is used to describe a self-actuated human or our humanness. If laws cannot control the reasonable fulfillment of our physical and psychological needs and desires like your heartbeat, your breathing, your desire to eat, Your burps, your farts, your thirst, your desire to urinate and defecate, why do we think it is appropriate to have laws attempting to control and disrupt the fulfillment of the normal adult desire for sex by consenting adults?
