There are many things that Summers omitted Mr. Pcyhuang. But I doubt anyone would listen to him if he suggested them. In my view we will know they have decided to eliminate abusive market manipulations such as naked shorting when we see two simple and obvious things: 1. All publicly traded securities being registered and traded only through a Market Maker free, computer based system; and 2. The replacement of the DTC with one or, preferably, two separate *trust* companies... not affiliated or controlled by any bank/broker/accounting firms and independent of each other... one to serve as the depository for all trade eligible hard copy paper, and the other to serve as the electronic markets clearing corporation against which all broker accounts are reconciled every day; and... most importantly... with such trust companies subjected to stringent and regular, consolidated independent audit and periodic, unscheduled, government examination. Correction of the current idiocy of broker driven sales excesses in markets dominated by derivatives required to support the ever increasing cash flow demands... without regard to cash values... will require quite a lot more. Certainly much more than anyone will ever contemplate short of a bona fide revolution. No... No... I doubt that even revolution could change that one. That one's going to require an evolutionary leap of some sort. Something to get us out of the "ape" family entirely... Maybe something extra-terrestrial perhaps? ...wHoo wHoo can say? Well... anyway... at least it makes it much easier to understand why we truly "great apes" have no choice but to pick a religion and run with it. <vbg> X\|X <------"Cross-Eyed" Owl
