i have seen many biotechs under net-cash value over the past 10 years. probably 1/3 got bought out for higher price than what i paid, 1/3 merged another company in (ie, IBPI, now RDEA) and the other 1/3 continued high cash piss and went bankrupt.

however my typical hold time in each is about 2-5 months, so they dont' go bankrupt on me... mostly you have to flip them.

and let free shares ride if you must
