If I ask a hundred people who are living their lives in the open, I bet I would hear at least a hundred stories about their own personal experience or the experiences of someone close to them that makes as much sense as your exwife's story. You can't, however, use common sense and expect to persuade someone worshipping at the alter of left wing extremist dogma. Shepp would have to get up off his knees, unlock the closet door where he hides with his computer and venture out into the real world of living and vibrant human beings. He may be too far gone to expect him to get real.
