I think may have missed part of the argument, That is only one part. And I would compare legalization to legalizing drunk driving. After all, isn't the the state interfering with people's rights by busting them before tey have had an accident or killed someone?

The other part is the classical reason for outlawing it - it's a public health measure. There is no practical way of preventing STD spread and allowing prostitution.

I don't know what planet libertarians live on, but it isn't Earth. Things work in ways on their planet that they don't here. Here wives get pissed about prostitution and get legislators to pass laws outlawing it. Nevada, the only state that outlaws legal prostitution, has the highest divorce rate in the nation.

Is your argument that broken marriages are a social good?
Even NV limits legalization. Prostitution is NOT legal in Clark or Washoe Counties where LV and Reno - in other words, the state's population - are.

(Nevada is also admittedly an outlier in divorce statistics because of its laws. This effect is impossible to separate from other causes.)

You want full drug legalization? I expect that would last about 2 weeks before the pressure on the legislature would get them back under control. Soon after the first middle class parents loose their kids to legal coke or meth. Wanna bet?

I don't know where libertarians live. I try to live in the real world. This can make you quite unpopular at times, like whem you yell 'BUBBLE! RUN FOR IT!' and 90% of the site is in and long and wants HIGHER AND HIGHER prices. But that doesn't meant you're wrong.
