certain folks obey the credo "don't wait for it to come to you, make yourself come to it"

in other words, don't rely on your company to protect you, you protect yourself.

there are parachutes made for buildings actually and i would imagine some have bought them for themselves...probably not many though

i totally doubt company would cover such an expense.
