Obama admits getting daily political and spiritual advise from Jeremiah Wright, his Pator and close friend. "What I value most about Pastor Wright is not his day-to-day political advice," Obama said. "He's much more of a sounding board for me to make sure that I am speaking as truthfully about what I believe as possible and that I'm not losing myself in some of the hype and hoopla and stress that's involved in national politics."

Wright was hired by Trinity United when he could find no Baptist church to take him. Jeremiah Wright graduated from Howard University and earned bachelor's and master's degrees in English with a focus on African spirituals. At the University of Chicago Divinity School, he earned another masters degree in the history of religions with a focus on Islam.
Obama is actively involved in a church that, among other things, just gave a "Rev. Dr. Jeremiah A. Wright, Jr. Lifetime Achievement Trumpeteer Award" to Louis Farrakhan leader of The Nation ofIslam. This is a real issue, not a bogus or artificially "racialized" one.
Farrakhan the so-called minister called whites "blue-eyed devils", referred to Judaism as a "dirty religion", and Jews as "blood suckers." He continues to claim the U.S. government is "the enemy" and continues to make veiled threats against America.
In Osama's 'Audacity of Hope "Malcolm X's autobiography seemed to offer something different," Obama wrote. "His repeated acts of self-creation spoke to me; the blunt poetry of his words, his unadorned insistence on respect, promised a new and uncompromising order, martial in its discipline, forged through sheer force of will."
He added: "Malcolm's discovery toward the end of his life, that 'some whites might live beside him as brothers in Islam', seemed to offer some hope of eventual reconciliation."
