Getting more than you pay for wouldn't inherently indicate theft.

More importantly we aren't getting more than we pay for. If the government borrows money it also takes it out of the private sector, you get more government and less wealth controlled by the private sector. Your not stealing from the future, everything consumed today has already been created. You can't steel from the future without time travel. You could reduce wealth in the future, by destroying capital, and taking measures that reduce economic growth, but you don't get that wealth now, you just eliminate it. More vandalism than theft.
