I'd spend it on infrastructure, schools, scientific funding for our nations research colleges, for the CDC, for medical research, and for technical programs to retrain our nation's poor or disadvantaged.

I have disagreed with you in the past - sometimes vehemenently - but I applaud your choices here. What a much better world we would have if we put our money into these priorities.

One aspect of the Iraq war (and the Afghanistan war) is the marvelous advances made in medical help that has saved so many lives. One aspect of this war that makes it palatable for the public is that the death rate isn't higher than it is. One result is the aforementioned medical heroics. These fantastics heroics have also created a large and constantly growing population of soldiers who will receive public assistance for the rest of their lives. Be sure I am not begrudging that. There are of course the real war examples we see on TV, but there is an entire large bunch who may have just broke a bone or developed flat feet who will paid for the rest of their lives. These men deserve it of course, my only thought is the cost of a war goes on for generations after it is over....... MSNBC and the rest wouldn't touch this subject with a ten foot pole.
