My gut is that he'll do just fine in all the white states as soon as Hillary is out of the picture. But one thing is for darn sure. This country still has plenty of racists in it. So Obama has to work to pull in voters that normally don't vote to offset the racists and ignorant folks who think those email smears are true. I hope you're right.....I am getting a few smear emails from the more conservative members of my family and some are subtlely racist....and these people are well educated. Of course, I refute every single one with back up but its not pretty. And then I imagine what's happening in the homes of joe six pack. I never thought Obama's campaign would be easy but I don't know how to keep maintaining "the audacity of hope" when there are so many ugly Americans out there.
