USA soft on black crime!!! Atwater’s and Lovette’s court records
Demario Atwater’s and Lawrence Lovette’s N.C. court records:

1/9/2004 Wake - Simple Assault - Dismissed 3/19/2004

9/2/2004 Durham - Common Law Robbery - Plead guilty 1/24/2005 to misdemeanor larceny - 3 days time served

9/2/2004 Durham - Possess Marijuana - Plead guilty 1/24/2005 - 3 days time served

1/25/2005 Wake - Felony B&E and Felony Possession of Stolen Goods - Guilty at trial 3/3/2008 - 8-10 months community punishment & 3 years supervised probation

6/15/2006 Granville - Resisting Public Officer - Dismissed due to felony trial of…

6/15/2006 Granville - Possession of Firearm by a Felon - Guilty at trial 6/28/2007. 12-15 months community punishment. 20 months supervised probation.

2/2/2007 - Durham - Second Degree Trespass - Still pending - An order for arrest is probably around somewhere.

11/7/2007 - Durham - Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Sell, or Deliver Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia - Apparently these charges are awaiting trial in Superior Court

Questions: Why didn’t he go to prison at all over a B&E? And, more importantly, why was his sentence not activated in 2007, when he was found guilty or convicted of the firearms charge? What good is probation if it is a toothless tiger? It certainly is. And “community punishment” is probation.

Lovett only has two misdemeanor convictions on his DOC record, one for Misdemeanor B&E and Misdemeanor Larceny in December 2007. He was also on probation.
