Obama and Mrs. Spitzer were not at Harvard Law School at the same time. Dang, I was about to call Drudge with a rumor. <G>

BTW, Mrs. Spitzer's first marriage lasted 29 days.

>A white male with Hillary's resume would have locked up the race by now. A white male with Obama's resume would have locked up the race by now.

Are there any advantages to being that delusional? ;-)

Just look at the math.

A white man would immediately start off by losing 7% and have to gain more than that among bigots (add in all the other factors too).

>The only reason McCain has any chance whatsover is because Hillary is a woman and Obama is black. <

You finally said something that is correct.

Any advantages that Hillary has by being a woman or Obama has by being black will be reduced sharpy when they face republicans and any disadvantages those factors bring will be amplified because the pools of voters are a lot different between democrats and republicans.

There are very few black republicans. Even among those that are, few will be attracted to Obama. So all he faces is an increase in bigots without the advantage of being black. I am also saying that there is likely to be more bigots among republicans.

There is a huge difference between a general election and an election among democrats. The pools of voters are different.

Maybe this will help you understand better.

If Colin Powell ran for president at the height of his popularity, he would have had a very difficult time getting the nomination because there are so few blacks in the republican party that would vote for him because he is black, but there are loads of bigots that would vote against him because he's black.

In a general election, the disadvantage of being black would be sharply reduced because he'd get a bunch of black democrats to vote for him because he's black (the exact percentage I do not know, but less than Obama for sure because he was a republican), and would face only a modest increase of bigots. The net might actually be beneficial relative to a republican primary.

In the end, IMO his blackness would be a disadvantage in a general election, but if he was a democrat running in a primary he'd have an advantage.
