Wasn't it David Gergen who advised Bill Clinton not to own up to the Lewinsky thing which was terrible advice as it turns out.

I don't think so but I'm not certain. I do recall that Dick Morris ran a poll for him which tried to determine just how damaged he would be if he confessed to having lied.

As for Gergen, his usual advice was to get it all out as soon as possible, the sooner the better, and don't leave anything behind. Or that will be the focus of the next level of attack.

So I doubt it.
