When I have had to deal with people who see things the opposite of the way I do, I sometimes don't just walk away or insist I'm right. I might reconsider my position. And continue talking. Sometimes on important issues it takes time for someone to come around. It takes time to see other aspects. You can change people's minds and bring people together more easily by listening to them than by telling them. Or by huffing out in disagreement or protest. How has Obama handled this among his churchgoing members and among his larger community in Illinois? Obviously, they support him (in 2004 and in Feb 2008).
