The Irish immigrants were called all sorts of insults for at least a century. That injustice didn't prevent them from developing loyalty & love towards the US, or cause them to develop a permanent victim mentality. Instead, they first considered the source, then set to work and ultimately proved that those who threw the insults were merely ignorant bullies.
