BS. It's a third-rate misdemeanor in New York State. Being a john is almost not illegal. It only matters if you're a public figure and the press exposes you. If I were "caught" with a hooker it would mean absolutely nothing. No cop in town would even bother charging me. It's trivial. In fact the only real crime involving prostitution these days is tax evasion, unless it's a blackmail ring, or a corrupt Justice Department trying to set up and ruin political rivals.
