I wish we were that upstanding now," <=== During the WWII era we fought against tyrants primarily from Germany, Japan and Italy. Since then, we idealistically fought against the imperialistic plans of North Korea, and because of the great sacrifices by our idealistic soldiers, South Korea is a thriving, successful democracy, while the North Koreans go hungry each night because of their radical, corrupt, ruthless government. Since then, we stood strong against the Imperialism of the USSR and are primarily responsible for the breakup of the USSR and the freeing of the Eastern European nations. The Eastern European nations are currently among our closest allies, and with good reason! Since the WWII era, the US also stood strong against the Imperialism of Red China, and because of the US, Taiwan is a booming, successful democracy and strong US ally. We also idealistically went to war against North Vietnam, in an attempt to build freedom and democracy in South Vietnam, similar to Taiwan and South Korea; and to stop North Vietnam's imperialism. Unfortunately, and sadly for South Vietnam, we failed. Currently we are idealistically trying to bring freedom and democracy to the backward, corrupt, ruthless, Muslim Middle East, and we are fighting against barbaric IslamoFascists, barbarians who would do serious harm to the US if given a chance. There are other examples of the greatness and courage of our country. You seem to prefer to accept the criticism, and hatred towards the US from the enemies of the US, rather than accepting the good deeds, or idealistic efforts, of the US. Obama, and his wife, also seem to have similar radical views against our country. I don't want someone like Obama, his wife, or his preacher-mentor, anywhere close to our government!
