LIAR. Zarqawi was not operative in Iraq under Saddam. Only after Bush declared "Bring it on!" encouraging Al Qaida types to stream into Iraq and kill our troops. Bush started it with that godawful line of his.

Zarqawi however flee to Iraq when his leg was wounded in Afghanistan. No hospital in Baghdad has any record of him being there so he was in hiding somewhere. He would have also been hiding FROM Saddam who killed hundreds of thousands of Islamic radicals in his time and was no friend of Al Qaida types. I believe Zarqawi was hiding in the far north near the Iranian border which was an area where Saddam had minimal control.
