Oh yeah, right, they didn't 'buy' the assests. They just:

1) Allowed JPM to use the laughably AAA credits as collateral for a big FOMC loan
2) Agreed to roll over the loan indefinitely
3) Indicated to JPM there will be 'no recourse' if the collateral proves worthless.

Put those three together and you've got an outright purchase.
