"Thanks"... Mr. Caruthers... I can't say its very surprising. Their shareholders were lucky to get $2 worth of JP Morgan paper for their shares. Its too bad they didn't work this deal last weekend though... or last December... or last October... The financial markets are going to get spanked pretty bad but I expect the rest of the markets will react comparatively well until later in the year. Its not a good time to be long companies with balance sheet problems and negative earnings. We will see. 0\|0

Well Mr. Caruthers... It's 6:30ET and things don't look so bad outside China... our real banker... maybe a weeks worth of "panicky" mornings at most. The financial and housing sectors are going to get "blowed up"... again... but I don't think the rest of the market will be hit too bad. The big question I have is what the MoMo's really want to see. If all they are looking for is a bail out of the sub-prime mess by the Fed I think they will have it by the end of the week. But if they are insisting on some fiscal responsibility and an end to the red ink being pumped out in Washington... that's a different fish all together. They can't get that unless Bush agrees to get our collective butts out of Iraq and Afghanistan... And Bush is far too delusional and/or stupid to accept responsibility for that. But if he doesn't get the hint after the drubbing the country takes this week... I don't think I'd want to contemplate what will happen this fall. 0\|0
