The Federal Open Market Committee meets on Tuesday. Analysts expect the FOMC to cut the target for the federal funds rate by as much as a full percentage point to 2%. Another cut in the discount rate is also likely.

Then it'll 1% and then it'll be zero ala Japan during their depression. The Feds will soon be powerless to influence markets if they aren't already. Gold $1,031 in Asian. Japan and Hong Kong down over 4% and rest of Asia down about 3%. Oops, make that 5% !!!
