MONEYMADE Thanks for the link. The structuring of the financial markets and what is legally allowed is at the heart of the financial problem. There are some simple solutions but no one will have the courage to implement them. The no. 1 item in the financial markets is to eliminate the use of margin in buying and selling stocks. That of course is unpopular with the hedge funds and individuals who thrive on margin to stay afloat. The no. 2 item is naked short selling. Margin debt and naked short selling-------Margin debt is equivalent to mortgage debt-----naked short selling is selling something you don't have and has descimated many start up companies with runs on their stock.
