I suspect you're in for a surprise. The most common way for debt to be erased is through bankruptcy.

Big Ben announced long ago that deflation won't be happening. "Helicopter" Ben will provide so much money, which can only be spent, because people won't want the depreciating value of it to sit in their pockets, that prices will NOT be collapsing, other than in sectors such as housing.

Getting it into the buyers' hands will see purchasing continue apace. If money is sprinkled from helicopters, half of it will be taken to the nearest stores to go shopping. Or it will be used to pay off this month's mortgage or maybe this year's if enough is collected from the streets.

Right again ElM.

The Fed is having a LOT of fun. No more tinkering here and there. Alan Green$pan KBE will be envious that it didn't happen on his watch so he could be the one to save the world from the Zombies. See Mindless Zombies here, who have been blaming the great, venerable and estimable Uncle Al KBE since Y2K for their mindlessness: Subject 53236
The 21st century is well underway and still they are blaming him for their decisions.

It's true I made the same mistake in Y2K with Globalstar, but I thought it was my mistake, not his. Some people have so little mind, they don't even know it's they who are doing what passes for "thinking". "Hmmm, shall I get a big mortgage, lying on the application, make a fortune on capital gains, then blow them all by using it like an ATM? Yes, I think that's a good idea".

A couple of years later, "Argghhhh!! It's all Green$pan's fault".
