It's a fly in the ointment of your pure free market philosophy.

No it isn't. Esp. since cartels usually get that way with government assistance or participation. OPEC is no different. IT the "Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries", with a group of countries with nationalized oil industries. Its not the free market at work.


You keep repeating that "$10 to harvest" as if it had some relevance. The value of an item isn't equal to how much it costs to produce it but rather how much people are willing to pay for it.

It's relevant from a political perspective.


Its not relevant to the claim that trade is a one way wealth transfer.

Trade is not an economic war. Trade barriers and sanctions might be considered an economic war, but allowing and/or having trade isn't.
