I think it's problematic for certain sectors of the white community, and not at all problematic for his support in the black community because that POV is well established in the black community. If we wish to lessen the feeling in the black community that whites bear real malice toward blacks, I can't think of a better way to dispel that than to elect a person of color.

While the ugly beliefs in the black community are a problem for us all, and I think a huge problem for the black community, calling that community or its pastors "scum" is not the way to solve the problem. People rarely react positively when called names, or when they feel assaulted.

Me, I don't like black liberation thinking, but I understand why it is popular in the black community. I also understand that the practical way to attack this kind of belief is not to make the people who already feel persecuted feel more persecuted- if you do that, you just validate their belief system, which I do NOT want to do.
