It's almost as if we are in a time warp....Slavery was at its prime here in the US from about 1700-1850 or so. Then came the Civil War to, among other things, free the slaves. That was at least 150 years and 6 generations ago (genealogists figure about 25 years per male generation)... One would think after awhile, that we would all remember the joint past, problems and opportunities as well, and live in the present, while hoping to create an opportunity for our children to live even more responsibly and happily in the future. Continuing to wallow in the slights and miseries of the past is beyond constructive, it's stupidity. We are guaranteed Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. Nothing more, and Nothing Less.
