Reverend Wright is important because Senator Obama has been documented to have been present when the reverend recited his racist rants. Regardless of racism or other reckless ramblings Wright remained rabbi to the recruit. This story is everything that the NY Times wished that the McCain story they put on the front page was. Wright was a close confidant and councilor to Senator Obama no matter how inflammatory he was. Senator Obama's wife has expressed views that would flow from a person that believed the pablum that Wright was preaching. Senator Obama knew that the man was saying things that would offend most people and still listed his as an advisor. It took Senator Clinton less than two hours to purge Elliot Spitzer from her advisor list when the story of Spitzer behaving like her husband broke, yet Senator Obama elevated Wright long after he knew of his offensiveness.
