Dennis Praeger pointed out that Obama's black identity is an identity of choice. He could have decided to embrace a multi-racial identity like Tiger Woods did. When you ask Tiger Woods his race, he says "Cablinasian", meaning Caucasian, Black and Asian. Praeger also points out that unlike Obama, Woods had a close and loving relationship with his father; Obama's father left the family when Obama was 2. Obama needed a replacement father figure in his life and Rev. Wright seemed to fit the bill.
