"Fact: Seems post seeks to correlate Brinker to Cohen. "

Yes, they BOTH under performed it seems and Cohen was replaced.

From Hulbert:

"Brinker’s fund selections on average have lagged the market. The HFD reports an 11.5% annualized gain for his “Aggressive” portfolio, which is 0.9 percentage points per year less than what this portfolio would have made if each of its funds were invested in the DJ Wilshire 5000 during the times they were owned.

"Please note: In late 2000, Brinker forecasted a several-month bear market rally and recommended an investment in the NASDAQ 100 Index—a trade that turned out quite unprofitably. However, because Brinker at the time of making this forecast chose not to make this trade part of his model portfolios, his HFD record has not suffered as a result."

I noted they have very similar performance since 2000. They handled it differently, Cohen lightened up and reallocated away some from tech while Brinker lowered his allocation to equities then dumped a HUGE amount back into tech, just before it fell from $87 to $19. He did this in his managed accounts where you can't rely on tricks to cover the effects.

BOTH are VERY public figures.

GS replaced Abby Cohen as a market prognosticator. Brinker is already under performing Buy and Hold according to Hulbert even without the QQQs so the question is relevant to ask when would YOU replace Brinker?

FACT: I won't replace Brinker as a good radio entertainer and I'll remain a fan of his show to follow his antics.
