Quite frankly I think this really has more to do with pumping out the VISA IPO, and at the highest possible price Look who it is that's going to benefit from that incoming cash windfall, and then look who it is that's priming the pump -- it's the same people Also, the Bear Stearns thing flushed out a lot of would-be sellers, creating a bit of a vacuum behind them (obviously) -- teetering economy or not, we're not going straight down It'll fill back in a bit soon enough I expect, but I doubt that happens right away, not while the VISA party is in progress -- they're going to play that for everything they can get
