I think McCain will maintain a lead over either Hillary or Obama until the conventions. If he can continue to appear statesmanlike, traveling the world and dealing with leaders while the dems sling mud, he may hold on all the way to November. I don't know if the dems can close ranks after this rasslin' match, but the republicans have actually done really well so far in doing so....

Will it hold?

Obama did a good job today in his speech. If he is the candidate he will be a formidable foe for McCain. The economy is in trouble and this works for Obama. The world is unsafe, and this works for McCain.

Hillary? Naw...

"Has the worm turned?"

And all you nay-sayers out there who gave up the ghost when McCain captured the nomination.

(Pomp and I pointed out several times that McCain had consistently shown more appeal among Independents then all of the other GOP contenders... and with Independents being the largest political grouping in America that's exactly the sort of thing one would need to win in the general election.... :-)
