Actually that makes perfect sense. You could be in church every weekend and still not know your pastor's doctrines. Most pastors are so boring that sleeping through the sermon is essential for personal survival and good mental health. -g-

He was there for some of them, but for one of the worst, which Safire lied and reported he was present for, Obama was on a well covered visit to New Orleans. But his denial did sound like a blanket denial, not just a denial of Safire's lie.
