Well it was to our north and the always move east by north east so there was really no danger from that one. Of course when there is one the conditions are right to form another but what are you going to do.

Back in 79 I was driving home from work when the radio was squawking about a tornado by Chippewa. I looked and I could see it to my west so I really got on the gas and headed north on the hwy. Just about at my exit they talked of another by Tilden. Well that was my exit and sure as shooting there it was. I took the exit and looked and there was no way I was beating this one. I jumped out of my car and went down over the embankment and laid in the grass. The thing bounced right over my head. It was like looking hell in the eye looking up at that thing. It touched back down about 300 yards from he and took out a shed and a hotel. Hotel looked like a massive explosion, just gone. I ran back up the hill to get in my car and it was gone. I was looking around and there below me is my car parked on the hwy aimed south in the north bound lane. I ran down and the thing looked like it had been sand blasted, all the paint was gone, but it fired right up and away we went for home. Way to close for comfort.

Nobody was hurt by the way.
