That's certainly understandable, even expected. In some ways the hypocrite is worse than the shameless, at least in that the hypocrite is more likely to fool you (until the fact that he is a hypocrite gets out). The problem with the shameless is they are more likely to inspire others to do the same wrong. Both, esp. the more extreme version of each can be obnoxious or even harmful.
