Saw one of those demo air powered cars on the tube the other day. Boy was it noisey.

<<"there is no battery available anywhere today that can cycle over 10,000 times to depth of discharge down to 20 percent as VRB can...none."

compressed air in metal tanks can.. i know it's small scale and not a battery, but it does function as one in this circumstance>>

The Air car is an electric car, powered by electric or gasoline compressors. It is not a magic solution.Electricity from grid is used to charge air tanks with related losses as electricity from grid is used to charge batteries with related losses.
Factor in gas and oil and wear and tear also for gas and electric compressors.
Would an expensive compressor designed to charge air tanks to 4300 pounds thousands of times need service and replacing?
