Yes, I was wrong as I have heard from several sources that Obama wrote the speech (and he did several drafts of it)...You are right though when you say that some of his speech writers may have assisted with the final editing...;-)

And he had no teleprompter and rarely looked at his notes. This says he spoke his mind and his heart according to one journalist who was there in the hall audience.
