What's Newt been saying?

Well, he was on CSPAN last fall I think, talking about presidential debates. He mocked the 2004 Bush-Kerry 100-page negotiated debate rulebooks and referenced the 1858 Lincoln-Douglas debates for U.S. Senator. He said debates shouldn't be moderated and interposed by talking heads, but should be adult discussions between the candidates, who themselves would set the agenda. There should be no holds barred, and if someone wanted to bring a large notebook, that should be allowed but everyone would see the candidate using it. He suggested weekly debates during the nine or so weeks of the campaign between Labor Day and Election Day.
