Tibet: maybe there's a degree of indifference about Tibet that does not exist about, say, Darfur / Southern Sudan, or even Burma. Part of that maybe the remoteness and inability of the West to influence the situation. Part of that maybe that Tibetan culture appears to be theocratic / feudal, sort of a caliphate without Islam. That does not get much sympathy. A minor point is the Dali Lamma's posse of Hollywood types and air heads. If we want to tweak TJ, we bring up Taiwan independence ;-) By the way, Jim Rogers is buying Taiwan on the expectation that the new election will result in a government which will work closer with the PRC.
