You need to read Obama's speech. He said very clearly that the issue of race cannot be resolved tomorrow but that we are going forward with baby steps. Besides, the giant strides that this nation made in passing civil rights in 1965 are bearing fruits just about now. If you watch US TV. you will start to see that the TV anchors, analysts etc. are a even mix of the White, African-American, Hispanic and Asian races. And they are all very good. It is evident that they are where they are because of their merit and not because they were put there. And I will refrain from getting into the cause of the World Wars, the continuing wars/genocide between the minorities in former Yugoslavia etc. etc. Instead, I will remain grateful that we don't have such genocidical wars in the US.
