When I was in grammar school, I was blessed with teachers (and parents) who encouraged me to read. I still have vivid memories of learning to read when I was in first grade. I can still remember the almost overwhelming sense of excitement.

Edgar Rice Burroughs was one of my favorite authors during my early teenage years. I really enjoyed the Pellucidar, Mars and Venus novels. For some reason, I never was a big fan of the Tarzan novels. I still have all of my ERB books.
