Sophia Antipolis = interesting, I hadn't heard of that place. Metropolis was where Superman and good people live. Antipolis seems like the evil twin city where international criminals live and meet. We know that SETI is an international conspiracy of telecommunications companies searching for extra-TDMA intelligence and whose brief is to steal it in conjunction with the Kroes Klutz Klan. They found a rich seam of intellectual property in San Diego and set about burgling it last century. QUALCOMM has been trying to defend their intellectual property, unsuccessfully. The USA government/political/legal/military depends on the cash flow from QUALCOMM. All that military equipment might as well be used to defend QUALCOMM's property. France bombed Greenpeace's Rainbow Warrior in Auckland harbour, New Zealand, to stop Greenpeace interrupting France's nuclear bomb testing. The USA could quite reasonably bomb ETSI at Sophia Antipolis, like Superman rescuing Metropolis from the evil-doers. Can you provide precise co-ordinates, or a street address? Google Earth could then give targeting information. Google probably already knows the location. French law is that you bomb people whom you dislike. So the USA would be complying with French law and certainly with American law. King George II would zoom in the ratings! John McCain sang "Bomb bomb bomb, bomb bomb Iran" as an electioneering tune and zoomed from last to first. If you could get the location of the Kroes Klutz Klan it would be helpful too. QUALCOMM is going to have to get political support. King George II said you are either with us or against us, [us meaning him]. QUALCOMM has been against him, with Brent Scowcroft giving him aggro [and being on the QUALCOMM board], Irwin and co host Bill Clinton for fund raisers, Al Gore decorated him, and are generally Democratic supporters, so there won't be any support from President Bush. QUALCOMM hired Carol Lam after she got in trouble with Bush and co. That French law says SETI members have to give licences, but there is no enforcement for a particular price. That hands it straight to the KKK who showed recently, with Microsoft's royalty, what they thought such prices should be [for foreigners anyway, especially Americans]. Europeans don't understand markets, preferring Kremlin-style central planning at the Kommissariat of Pricing. Come to think of it, nobody seems to understand markets! It's a bad scene [for QUALCOMM].
