i stepped into those shoes, my sat would never have got me into school. yet going nights i maintained a very high gpa.

Sat is only a test of your knowledge of various class work you may or may not have paid attention to in hs. Algebra, Geom, etc. Certainly this math would not be required by a liberal arts major. I also expect a person coming out of the military is already behind the age of their peer group attending colleges, hopefully they are much more mature and will make up with extra effort vs being immature.

I wouldn't want to have to take college prep courses to pass an sat exam when i could be taking college courses for credit. It took me ten years to get through night school. i expect someone coming out of the military going days it may take them five years.

let them take a seat at the school and go for it. If they fail they have lost nothing vs failing sat and not getting a chance at all. If they are going to be taken calculus etc i hope someone advised them of the math background requirements. As i remember before signing up for any of the math courses they listed previous requirements in order to keep up with the course basics.
