i believe stronger tanks made of material such as kevlar or another material could be manufactured than would drastically reduce the weight of the tank(storage system). then you would have a storage system that is light weight and remain with the same power it was stored with until it was used.

Well.. such tanks already exist.. They can be filled up to 10K PSI and are manufactured of advanced composites:

And from what I understand, they are tough enough to take a direct hit from a .30/cal round and not puncture/fracture.
