Kids need to be exposed not protected. The more exposed they are the better they will turn out. So they need to be exposed to poverty, hunger, abuse, drug/alcohol addicted parents, etc.? I don't think so. Would you advocate a parent taking a child to a KKK rally weekly?

John, I completely agree that children need to be exposed to as many experiences as possible..to mean dialogue? I'm afraid that mean is way too common in their(our) worlds these days.. I suppose that's why for me, my place of worship is a place where even my mean self-defenses take a time-out..but it's purely personal preference and I get that.. Btw, when Wright's church and sermons are expanded upon, I bet that mean is NOT how we'll be describing them..
