McCain is as moderate as they can get. I am already having trouble with him though. First he says iran is sending al quaeda into iraq. Soon he will say Gulf of Tonkin resolution gives the US president all the authority he needs in iraq. I dont think i can ever vote for a candidate who hasnt yet gotten over our defeat in vietnam much less recognize the quag in iraq. If it is obama/mccain which is likely, there would have been a gaping hole for a bloomberg to run. Mikey might have made a big mistake not jumping in. About now in a three way, it might be a three way tie.

I agree with you. However, as you and I have both pointed out, this Republican Party has been hijacked by the neo-cons. So they are still living off their past glory, the Rove days, thinking that another neo-con can win. Now I wouldn't call McCain a neo-con. I actually think he's far from it. However, the one area the Republicans have become hopelessly blind on is Iraq. If they would only realize that 70% of Americans don't want to be in that war, then they would have a chance at winning. I think the Iraq war for the GOP is just as damning as the Wright video is for Barack. If Obama and McCain get to battle it out for the White House, it's going to be one hell of a race. It will be fun to watch.

Oh and btw, I think McCain will run a much cleaner race than Hillary. I still believe that McCain has integrity and has a very large decency streak in him. He suspended a campaign staffer today for sharing a Wright youtube video. I bet Hillary would have ensured it was sent to every other staffer. Hillary has become more of a pain to the DNC than the RNC. Amazing.
